Rally Against Doctor-Prescribed Suicide-December 9, 2011

Yesterday’s rally at the steps of the Massachusetts Statehouse went very well.  There was a pretty significant and very diverse crowd there to show broad and united opposition to the proposed legalization of Doctor-Prescribed Suicide. John Kelly and Karen Schneiderman were eloquent as they talked about the danger the so-called “Death with Dignity” act poses to the disabled.  Patricia Stewart, Esq, spoke on the lack of safeguards surrounding the process.  Former State Representative Mark Carron conducted the event as MC and discussed the danger to the developmentally disabled and society generally.

It was really great to see that people are concerned about what happens to the vulnerable and will work to oppose this dangerous and imprudent measure.  There’s still a long way to go but we are off to a good start.
